I am a certified Medicine Yoga  Teacher, taught by Ulrika Berglind a licensed physiotherapist and one of the most experienced professionals in kundalini yoga and medical yoga in Sweden.

 

Medical yoga comes out of kundalini yoga, which has its roots in India. A bit carelessly, we can say that medical yoga is the "light" version of kundalini yoga. In medical yoga, the variations on the movements and positions are endless and all of them can be done both on a chair or sitting on the floor, or standing. Medical yoga has several advantages compared to regular exercise. In addition to becoming stronger, more persistent and more mobile, our breathing and mood improve, we lose weight more easily. Thanks to the fact that yoga combines movement and rest, we get the best recovery.

In Sweden Medical yoga has been used more over than 20 years for mental and physical rehabilitation both by physiotherapists and doctors.
